Services Offered
We keep a caring eye on older, isolated and vulnerable people in our area, offering support, friendship and practical help so they can carry on living safely and independently at home.
Everyday help
Our volunteers help local people who, because of illness or disability, could do with a hand with everyday tasks, including:
- doctor, dentist and hospital appointments
- collecting prescriptions
- food shopping
- visits to the bank or building society
- home visits
- help with filling in forms and writing letters
Health appointments always take priority.
More than a lift
We look for all the ways we can make life a little easier, whether that's walking someone's dog, helping with letters, putting people in touch with social services for home care or equipment, or pointing them towards benefits advice.
Just as importantly, we are someone to turn to for reassurance and a friendly listening ear.

When we run
Our door-to-door service runs Monday to Friday, generally between 9am and 5pm, with some flexibility. Occasionally we can help at weekends, depending on the circumstances and on volunteers being available.
